Two major companies namely Google and Amazon want their own air traffic control network that will control drones.
The Federal Aviation Administration(FAA) has the backing of all big companies including General Electric, Amazon, Boeing and Google.
The network will be fully private meaning that it will not have any relation with the current federal system.
Gun Kimchi head of Amazon’s drone delivery service said that drones for long-distance flying must give notice of their schedule and destination, and they need to be connected to the Internet.
The original idea for a network of this kind belongs of course to NASA, with which the two tech giants will work with for its development and deployment.
