The last five years have marked the extraordinary progress for the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), which is a giant in the aviation industry. There has been an increase in both production of new models but also of batches.
China’s aviation is making the leap from the third generation to the fourth. The newest model the J-20 stealth fighter has already been approved for combat service. Its first flight was back in 2011 but was made public in 2015.
On the other hand the Y-20 which is a carrying aircraft can transport 200 tonnes of weight and will play a crucial role in the delivering capabilities of China. Also the H-6K bombers and the new generation of KJ-500 early warning aircrafts will play a crucial role in the years to come.
Now to unmanned space of air flight the Wing Loong UAS has several “significant orders” and will continue to develop high end-reconnaissance UAS. The Wing Loong II completed its first flight in 27 of February 2018 and was capable of meeting the international standards.
In the helicopter sector the Z-10, Z-19 and Z-8 are all available for active service. Also, for export purposes the Wing Loong II UAS, the JF-17B dual seat fighter and the Z-19E armed helicopter are ready.
